Landells-Withers Group

Thank you for visiting the Landells-Withers Group website.

Back in 1997, a 16-year-old GCSE student named Simon Withers decided that he would try his hand at writing a science-fiction novel.  Over a period of about 4 years, that novel grew and metamorphed through different phases until finally becoming "Rightful Vengeance"  Unfortunately, whilst Simon was able to write this story, no one would be able to see it except his close friends.

Fortunately, one of Simon's friends was looking into web authoring at that time and suggested that Simon should post extracts of his story onto the world wide web.  That friend was Andrew Landells, a fellow student with some HTML skill and vast expanses of cyberspace at his fingertips.  Simon agreed that posting to the Internet would be a good idea and thus Landells-Withers Group was born!

Since then, Andrew and Simon have turned from GCSE students to A-level students and then to University undergraduates.  Despite having gone their separate ways, LWG has continued to exist, albeit with less interaction from the authors.  Even though the original members can't spend as much time on the project as they once used to, the so-called "Landells-Withers Project" has gone from strength to strength and Simon suggested that they should share this concept with other authors worldwide.

Therefore, the aim of LWG is to act as a forum to all budding Science-Fiction authors and hopefully to act as a mediator for authors and publishers.  The LWG service is free to all, and thanks to the free services offered by Microsoft bCentral, GuestPage and FreeNetName, it should stay that way.  Thanks again for visiting, maybe someday LWG will be THE internet Science-Fiction establishment, but we need your help to achieve that dream.
